About The Program
Academic institutions need skilled, dynamic leaders who have the vision and drive to create learning communities where both students and staff learn and thrive. At McDaniel College, our Administrator I Certification program will prepare you for these opportunities. Designed for educators who want to advance their careers, the Administrator I program:
- Is available 100% online, as well as in districts throughout Maryland where students benefit from a local cohort
- Consists of five courses and an internship for a total of 18 credit hours. The internship may be completed in the school district in which one works.
How It Works
Once enrolled, you’ll study:
- Role of the Principal
- School Culture & Professional Capital
- Leading School Improvement & Change
- Monitoring and Aligning Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment
- School Law
Upon completion of the above and fulfillment of the internship requirement, you will be eligible to apply to the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) for the Administrator I Certificate.
Note that Certification is the domain of the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
