At 4.0, we invest in new, community-centered models of education, and provide coaching, curriculum, community and cash to those with the imagination to create a more equitable education ecosystem.
Our team is made up of staff members and alumni, who return after their fellowships to help lead our work and nurture future cohorts. Over the course of the last decade, we’ve worked with more than 1,500 diverse, inspiring leaders to bring hundreds of education-focused ventures to life. These programs have gone on to benefit more than nine million students across the country.
4.0 imagines a world where education leaders reflect the diversity of our nation; families and communities are co-owners in the process of vetting promising education ideas; and access to funding is abundant, transparent, and democratized as a rule.
Together, with our innovative fellows and our dedicated network of alumni, we are working to remove barriers between people and power by centering, nurturing and supporting human-centered ideas in education.
WHAT WE DO:
Through our fellowships, we move money and power closer to communities, facilitating the creation of spaces where bold ideas can thrive. We then ensure that those ideas are tested, without the fear of failure or the need for expansion. We believe that these are the best conditions for imaginations to thrive.
We enhance talent and ideas through a network of support, forging connections, and encouraging social and professional bonds that create a strong alumni-led and alumni-driven network.
We put the power where it belongs: in the hands of people doing the work on the ground, and the families whose lives are shaped by education.
TFA REINVENTION LAB PARTNERSHIP
4.0, in partnership with The Reinvention Lab, powered by Teach For America, has launched a new initiative called Pathways to connect the right early stage education nonprofits (and their founders) to the right venture philanthropists on the right terms. The Pathways Program takes 4.0 alumni from a ready-to-grow proof point to helping them establish an operational model that is an investment-ready, non-profit entity on a path to scaling.
