My name is Melissa (m uh – l IH – s uh) Villarreal and I currently serve as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at IDEA Pharr College Preparatory in Pharr, Texas. My journey in the realm of education began 10 years ago, driven by my deep-seated passion for empowering students and transforming their lives through quality and rigorous instruction.

My goal is to foster an educational environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among educators, students, and parents. I firmly believe that every student deserves a nurturing and inclusive educational experience that empowers them to reach their full potential, regardless of their socio-economic status. Recognizing the power of leadership to effect meaningful change, I aspired to become a school Principal to make a broader impact on educational systems.

When I am not engaging in my school community, you can find me reading Psychological Thrillers, watching Houston Astros baseball, or BBQ’n fajitas with my husband, daughter Isabella, my French-bulldog Nolan, and my Pug Pudge.
