
Alonna Berry is the Manager of Alumni and Teacher Impact at Teach For America Delaware. Teach For America Delaware is a national non-profit organization consisting of 53 independent regions across the nation. In her role, she supports leadership development, classroom training, and support across the state of Delaware. In partnership with Teach For America Delaware, Alonna launched an educator leadership program, Engage Delaware in 2017. This year-long leadership development program focuses on building capacity through collective leadership for educators across the state; Engage Delaware innovates on programming for students and families by building mentoring programs, supporting teacher leader effectiveness and providing social-emotional supports for students with trauma across the state of Delaware. Prior to Teach For America, she worked as the Aide to the Chief Academic Officer and Associate Secretary of Education, supporting statewide programming in curriculum development and student support services in Delaware. Alonna began her career as a classroom teacher in education through Teach For America in 2011. In 2013, she was awarded the Sue Lehmann Award for Excellence in Teaching. She holds a BA in Writing & Rhetoric from Syracuse University and an MS in Management and Organization Leadership from Wilmington University. As a native Delawarean, she is devoted to Delaware serving through non-profit leadership on boards such as Montessori Works and Next Generation South. She also serves as an advisor for the Youth Philanthropy Board of Sussex County. Additionally, Alonna is Board Chair and Founder of the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence, INC. and Proximate Network, INC.
