Stonewall National Education Project (SNEP), the education program of Stonewall National Museum & Archives, shares and implements strategies for LGBTQ-inclusive policies, inclusive practices, and curriculum through a national network of educators. As an advocate for the safety, inclusion, and value of LGBTQ students, SNEP focuses on centering the most vulnerable of LGBTQ students, with a focus on improving student achievement, attendance, and graduation rates.
Culminating in an annual three-day symposium that gathers more than 60 school districts from across the US, school district administrators and board members, educators and representatives from state departments of education, federal agencies, national and regional advocacy organizations, and community organizers doing work around LGBTQ+ youth are invited to attend.
Stonewall National Education Project also generates LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum and learning tools for high school environments that are available for purchase and distribution through grant-funded initiatives. Curriculum topics have included: LGBTQ Inclusive Curriculum, The Day of Silence, Diversity: LGBT History Month and Beyond, Hispanic Heritage: Familia, Tradicíon, Música, and The Orlando 49: Documenting the Orlando Tragedy and Its Consequences.
