📰 Leading into the Future

Teach For America thanks David Kenny for his tremendous leadership and welcomes Dr. Dan Porterfield as chair of our National Board of Directors. Dr. Porterfield will steward Teach For America’s mission and support its evolution as the organization looks toward the future of education.

Aneesh testified in front of Congress about the responsible use of AI in education to strengthen human connection and deepen critical thinking. “The future of learning will require a blending of technology and human expertise, with teachers leading and guiding, and technology supporting.”

TFA at SXSW EDU

TFA alumni and staff led more than 30 sessions at SXSW EDU, showcasing the many ways our network is leading across education. Aneesh Sohoni delivered a featured session on optimism in education–energy that was felt throughout TFA Austin’s alumni and partner gathering.

🎓Alumni Highlights

Zoë Stemm-Calderon (Houston 2000) is the new executive director of the Raikes Foundation, which focuses on helping young people and communities thrive. In her work, Stemm-Calderon works to support a public education system that’s fair and future-ready for all students. She describes her TFA experience as “an amazing formative experience for me. It shaped how I saw opportunity structures in the country.”
