Nominations are open for Teach For America’s national alumni boards the National Advisory Board of the Collective and the National Prism Advisory Board

At Teach For America, we believe that realizing educational excellence and equity will take a broad and diverse coalition of people united around a common purpose and shared values. We know that the change effort must be shaped by those of us who are most directly impacted by educational inequity. The role of the National Advisory Board of the Collective and the National Prism Advisory Board is to provide strategic guidance to Teach For America as we pursue our mission. Board members share their perspectives with senior leaders to inform how Teach For America recruits, selects, trains, supports, retains, and engages corps members, Ignite fellows, alumni, and staff. The names of the current board members can be found on Teach For America’s Alumni Hub.

  • Board members serve 3-year terms, which may be renewed. We are currently seeking new board members, whose term of service will be from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2028.
  • Board members spend on average 3-4 hours a month on board-related activities. This includes virtual board meetings, an annual in-person retreat when budget allows (Teach For America covers the travel costs for in-person retreats), and committee meetings.
